Merry Christmas to you and your family! It's hard to believe that 2011 is nearly behind us. This Christmas season, I've been honored to play Santa Claus for both a daycare and local school. As I saw kid after kid wishing for this and that, it got me thinking: What do I want this Christmas?

Below is my Christmas Wish List. Hopefully, you can help deliver:

· A Christ-Centered Government. It's time to reclaim our motto of "One Nation Under God". (Did you know our County Commissioners don't even open their meetings with prayer? Or the Pledge of Allegiance!)

· A Better Business Environment in Southern Illinois. I have friends and family that are struggling this Christmas season. So do you. Let's bring jobs back to Southern Illinois in 2012.

· Lower Taxes. Lower taxes is just a few spending cuts away. You deserve to keep as much of your paycheck as possible.

· A More Transparent and Accountable Government. We must return to a government "Of the People, By the People, and For the People."

· Elected as WILLIAMSON COUNTY COMMISSIONER.

· (And an official Red Rider BB Gun, of course)

As Commissioner, I'll make these a priority. The last thing we need is more of the same; I'll work to make a real difference for the tax payers of Williamson County. I hope I can count on your support.

Thank you for stopping by my website. For as long as I can remember, I've committed myself to helping other people. My grandfather lived a life of sacrifice, like most in his generation. He served his country ably in the Army during the Korean War, he was a retired civil service employee, was a fighter until the day he died, and most importantly was a Christian. He taught me about sacrifice and standing for what is right.

Every day, I read the same news articles and watch the same news programs as you do. It's discouraging. We've heard candidates preach "change" for years, but it seems we become more in debt and unemployment rates rise at the mere mention of "change". The fact of the matter is, we can't afford change any longer. It's time for us to tell politicians like Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Rod Blagojevich, and even, Tracy Glenn, right here at home that we want solutions.

I've lived in Southern Illinois my entire life and am proud to call this my home, however, my home could use a little work. We need more transparency and accountability in our government, we must create a business friendly environment to lure large companies to our county, and we have to keep our spending in check and even look at ways to reduce the tax burden on our residents.
